GEORGIA LAWS AND LAWMAKING

At the 1996 NSCA Conference we heard weight lifting equipment had been removed from Georgia prisons by their governor and that a new prison Commissioner was taking a "get tough on criminals" position there. We also heard about a 4 mile a day walking program being promoted as their wellness program. Since then we found a nice article in the Criminal Justice Newsletter about the situation there.
