Prisons and reformatories - prohibiting incarcerated inmates from possessing certain items - codification


BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:

SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 510.11 of Title 57. unless there is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows:

A. No maximum security inmate incarcerated in an institution under the jurisdiction of the Department of Corrections shall:

1. Possess any television set, cable vision or other video equipment in the inmate's cell; or

2. Possess any printed material that shows the nude bodies of humans, with the exception of medical books.

B. No inmate classified lower than maximum security shall:

1. Possess any cable vision or other video equipment in the inmate's cell; or

2. Possess any printed material that shows the nude bodies of humans, with the exception of medical books.

C. All correctional institutions shall provide inmates opportunity for physical exercise but shall not provide weight lifting equipment, martial arts training or specialized physical training.

SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 1995.
